How does it work?

We have upgraded our camera systems with a license plate reader and positioning to view correctly placed permits. If your permit is not placed on the rearview mirror as described in the flier you received with your permit was issued (see below), please hold it up as your drive into the center.

YOUR PERMIT AND/OR LICENSE PLATE WILL BE READ BY OUR VIDEO SYSTEMS.
IF YOUR PLATE NUMBER DOES NOT MATCH AN ISSUED PERMIT, THAT IS CONSIDERED TRESPASSING
.

Here at Lehman, we currently use the Single Stream recycling method which means no separation required. We have looked into moving to a dual stream method; HOWEVER, we have decided to keep our center AS IS and no changes will be made at this time.

Residents of Lehman Township and nearby towns are welcome to use our Recycling Center, however everyone needs a permit. This brings a low-cost recycling option to our residents and surrounding community.

We ask everyone to be respectful of our center. If you drop trash near or at the center, please pick it up. We appreciate everyone for doing their part in keeping Lehman clean!

Our Recycling Center is under surveillance by a Video Monitoring System and said footage will be used to identify dumping!

We want to thank our residents and permit holders for making changes in the way they recycle to make this possible.

If you need a permit, please follow the instructions below.

**** If you have sent in an application via mail and have not received your permit, please call Chrisandra at 570-674-7788 or Email at Lehman@LehmanTwp.com for verification of status.

Recycling Education Grant

With a grant received through the Luzerne County Recycling Department, Lehman Township has been able to both educate and inform residents and community members about our Recycling Center. This grant has been utilized to both share what we offer here at the Township and provide useful information regarding what is recyclable and best recycling practices. We will apply for this grant again during the next round and hope to continue to get information out via printed newspaper to the community.

We have been lucky to utilize these funds while supporting small business. We advertise and educate about our Recycling Center monthly in the Back Mountain Community News. Check them out by clicking the logo below.
